Whilst King of Scarsis a brand new story, so can be read separately, it’s best to read the other books in the Grishaverse first, starting with book one Shadow and Bone.

The King of Scars books pick up back in Ravka, one year after the end of the Six of Crows series. The Shadow and Bone books are a comparatively quicker read than the Six of Crows or King of Scars book.
